Fever and infectious complaints
Related specialties
Fever, cough, sore throat, limb pain and catarrhal symptoms may indicate infection. A mild course of a few days can often be managed at home, but prolonged fever, breathlessness, headache, rash or chronic illness warrants medical review.
How we assess infectious complaints
In infectology, internal medicine and laboratory sampling we assess symptoms and comorbidities. Targeted laboratory, microbiological or further investigations may follow.
When to see us
- Fever lasts more than three days or keeps returning.
- Cough, sore throat or weakness limits daily life.
- Infection occurs with chronic disease or a weakened immune system.

Emergency care
Our private clinic provides outpatient care and does not replace emergency services. High fever with severe headache, neck stiffness and altered consciousness, a collapsed general condition, or sudden severe symptoms require an emergency department or on-call service. Call emergency services for severe breathing difficulty, neck stiffness or altered consciousness.
